Assessment of critical mass formation in containers with spent nuclear fuel

In the paper the issues of thermal factor influence on choice of layout of storage facility for problem types of ship spent nuclear fuel (SNF) accumulated in the Murmansk region have been considered. The principles of the calculation method and the results of thermal regime assessments of underground storage facility for SNF have been presented.

Long-lived radionuclides and the problem of radioactive waste disposal in the Northern region of Russia

The paper presents the analysis results of structure and radiation characteristics of radioactive waste in the Northern region of Russia. The influence of long-lived radionuclides in regional radioactive waste when choosing the type of facility for final isolation of waste from the biosphere has been determined on the basis of the analysis.

Isotopic composition of spent nuclear fuel of reactors' active zones of the icebreaker Lenin

The mathematical model of reactors в„– 1, 2 and 3 of OK-150 for the icebreaker Lenin has been developed. Basing on this model there have been determined the mass isotopic compositions and activity of the spent nuclear fuel: for the part stored at the service ship Lepse and the one flooded in the Kara Sea.
